Tumors derived from chromaffine tissue include pheochromocytomas (tumors located in adrenal medulla) and paragangliomas (extraadrenal tumors). These tumors are in 20–25% inherited. Paragangliomas are even rarer and are presented either as familial disease or pheochromocytoma-paraganglioma syndrome (PPS).
